Buying in a 55+ Community? Compare the Location Inside the Community
Choosing the right community is only the first decision.
The next question iswhere within that community you want to live.
A home close to the clubhouse may make fitness classes, meetings, pools and social events wonderfully convenient. Another buyer may prefer being farther from activity.
A golf-course location may offer an attractive view while introducing considerations such as golf activity and privacy.
Homes near entrances may provide quicker access in and out of the community while experiencing more traffic.
Look at what surrounds the property today, not simply the house itself.
Consider road exposure, common areas, neighboring homes, walking routes, recreation facilities and the direction of important views.
Visit the location at different times when practical.
Martha’s Tip:On the community map, mark the places you expect to use every week. Then look at each prospective home in relation to those places.
There is no “best” location for everyone.
The goal is choosing the location that supportsyour preferred daily routine.
