Start a Home Information Binder Before Selling

Preparing to sell becomes easier when your important property information is organized before you need it.

Create a binder—or digital folder—for the home.

Include available information about significant improvements and replacements such as roofing, HVAC equipment, water heaters, windows, solar systems, plumbing, electrical work and major appliances.

Add applicable warranties, service agreements and manuals for items that will remain with the property.

You do not need to locate every receipt you have ever saved.

Concentrate on information most likely to help answer future questions about the home.

That makes information easier to locate when you need it.
