Martha and Southern Arizona homebuyers driving through a residential neighborhood after viewing a home

Give the Neighborhood Its Own 15-Minute Showing

Give the Neighborhood Its Own 15-Minute Showing After touring several homes, buyers often rush from one appointment directly to the next.

When you find a serious contender, consider doing something different.

Stay.

Give the neighborhood another fifteen minutes.

Drive surrounding streets.

Look at the general condition of nearby properties.

Notice traffic and road access.

Locate the community entrance and amenities.

If walking is important to you, look at sidewalks, trails and routes you might actually use.

Listen to the area.

Consider what you see immediately behind and around the property.

None of these observations replaces formal due diligence, community-document review or other appropriate investigations.

They simply help you answer a very human question:

Can I imagine living here?

Martha’s Tip: Turn off the radio, lower the car windows and slowly drive the immediate area. You may notice things you missed while concentrating on finding the address.

You are purchasing more than square footage.

You are choosing the setting for your everyday life.
